Coldry shortlisted under government grant program

Environmental Clean Technologies Limited (ECT or Company) (ASX:ESI) is pleased to confirm that advice has been received from Victoria's Department of Primary Industries (DPI) that our Expression of Interest (EOI) for the Advanced Lignite Demonstration Program (ALDP) has been shortlisted, and we have been invited to submit a response to the Request for Proposal (RFP).

According to the ALDP website:

“The Australian Government and the Victorian State Government are now seeking proposals from parties interested in developing pre-commercial demonstration scale, coal upgrading processes for raw lignite.

“Up to A$90 million in funding is available to support projects assessed by the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments as addressing the program objectives.”

ECT's Managing Director, Michael Davies commented, "ECT is pleased to have been invited to further develop a proposal for our Coldry technology in the Government's ALDP process. We are keen to continue with the program, and see great promise in its objectives to unlock the value in Victoria's Lignite reserves within a more sustainable and low emissions framework. We must also note that the ALDP criteria with respect to confidentiality means ECT will be unlikely to be able to provide further comment on the progress in the program until it is complete. We will, however, be guided by our continuous disclosure rules, and therefore must work closely with the DPI to ensure we meet both objectives."

The ALDP timeframes are broadly as follows:

  • RFP response due mid March 2013
  • Finalisation of Funding Agreement - September 2013
